April 08, 2015 – Wout Coster 1947 – 2015
Today we acknowledge the passing this morning of our friend, our boss, our partner, our mentor, our leader, Wout Coster. Wout started UIP 15 years ago with co-founder Steve Schwat. Previously Wout worked for a Dutch pension fund and pioneered mega projects that changed cities; for example, two towers in Atlanta and two in Boston. Here in DC he built Market Square on Pennsylvania Ave. He is missed by all who knew him.

April 03, 2015 – Ashleigh Keys and Aleta Orem join UIPPM
Ashleigh is joining our team as the DC Regional Manager. She brings over thirteen years of property management expertise, has achieved the designations of COS, CAM, CAPS and is a CPM candidate. Aleta is joining our team as Community Manager. She has managed large properties (600+ units) and has managed multiple sites. Her expertise and leadership will add to our strong PM team.

November 16, 2014 – UIP, Criterion Acquire Two MD Apartment Communities for $39.3 Million
Urban Investment Partners and Criterion Holdings have acquired two Maryland apartment communities with a total of 385 units for $39,340,000.

October 14, 2014 – UIP Completes Renovation at 1430 W Street, NW in DC
Urban Investment Partners has completed an extensive renovation of a 1910-era apartment building at 1430 W Street, NW, formerly known as The Madeira, transforming it into a Class A building with a full range of 21st century amenities. The building’s 38 modern apartment homes are leasing rapidly.

A group that includes Urban Investment Partners (UIP), PRP LLC, and Perseus Realty has acquired the 289-unit Capitol Park Towers apartment complex in Washington, DC. The group plans to invest in significant improvements over the next several years.

September 26, 2012 – Green is the new Metallica: ShredFest 2012 a Success
Residents and community members came out ShredFest last Saturday, Sept. 15 to recycle their old electronics and shred their old documents. Residents also enjoyed some free shredded pork sandwiches and watched their old documents get dumped and shredded through giant blades! At the end of the day, we all took a look at the pile of confetti in the back of the truck. ShredFest is a community event where residents and community members can recycle old electronics and shred old documents to protect against identity theft and help to preserve the environment.

January 17, 2013 – UIP Welcomes Back Long-Time Residents at 1346 Park Rd NW
Two long-time residents of Park Road Courts, at 1346 Park Road NW in Columbia Heights, returned to their homes after a yearlong renovation to their building. Ms. Bennett and Ms. Fuentes were temporarily moved into other apartments for the duration of the full gut rehabilitation. UIP covered all moving costs and provided custom finishes at no extra cost to these residents. The residents will enjoy their renovated apartments at rent-controlled rents, the same rent as they paid before they moved out for the restoration. 

November 5, 2012 – UIP Fights Hunger and Homelessness.
Urban Investment Partners (UIP) is joining the fight to end hunger and homelessness in the metro Washington DC area. This November, UIP will donate $1 to The Anne Frank House (AFH) for every canned food item donated at a UIP participating location.
