When you’re happy, we’re happy, so your feedback is very important to us. UIP is committed to providing outstanding customer service. But don’t take our word for it, see what our residents have to say!
“I just want to extend major gratitude to the UIP team for the incredible service we’ve received over at Holmead Apartments recently. We’ve had several maintenance issues, and the staff, particularly Lissette Castellon and James Murphy, have been very supportive. They’ve responded to each of our requests promptly, and the quality of the work has been superb. They alsoand I know this is cheesy- have made us feel really comfortable and confident in asking for requests, and have been really
understanding when I have been slightly emotional due to the maintenance issues. Thank you!”

“I want to formally commend our “temporary” property manager, Kendra Britt. As you may know, there was a “flood” in my apartment due to the carelessness of another tenant. This flood destroyed my living room floor. From the beginning of this problem, Kendra has been attentive and responsive to all my concerns and actively addressing same.”

“A quick note to say thanks for what UIP is doing for this building (as annoying as it may seem at the moment to many residents) and to salute another of your team, Ray Viloria. I have watched him juggling the many aspects of our window replacement and am impressed. I have even bared my teeth at him, and I still like this guy. He was kind enough to allow my scheduled replacement on the original date even though there had been some bad weather and the schedule was being changed. He knew I had spent considerable time and effort (everything seems more challenging in old age) moving my furniture and belongings. The actual replacement took much less time than I’d have guessed, the clean-up was minimal and the windows (which I’d have opted out on if given the chance) are terrific.
The contractors are also top-notch, from the manager, Patrick, the crew chief, Adam, and all the guys on the crew.
Having lived through renovations both as a homeowner and a renter, this was painless. Many thanks.”

“I just wanted to send out a note of thanks for the super prompt and friendly service I got from my building tech James.
I’ve just moved into my apartment (3C on Park Rd NW) recently and noticed a couple of things I really wanted modified a bit or fixed in the first couple of weeks. I used our email system to put in a couple of service request tickets and was so surprised that James came the very next day to fix my issues. Everything (a lock, a wardrobe bar, a faucet issue) was fixed really well. The very next day!
I got friendly correspondence along the way (for example, asking whether ifs OK to come by even if I’m not in, etc, etc).
I’ve had a great experience, so thank you very much!”

“I have just moved in and realized that I needed all of the windows in my apartment fitted with screens. James was very prompt this morning to take measurements and inquired about my dog Charlie. Charlie may look intimidating but he is very sweet and James was happy to give him a cookie from the box that was on the counter. He emailed saying he had replaced all of the screens. I’ve worked with many companies and repair technicians, and this was by the far the easiest communication I’ve ever had. James was friendly, thoughtful and prompt.
Honestly in other buildings I’ve always had issues with things not being completed or with miscommunications so I am so pleased that James was so helpful.”

“This letter is in recognition of a wonderful and spirited employee associated with your organization. He is very thorough and mindful of tasks assigned to him, as he cleans up behind every job done. These are just a few of the traits we here at “The Plaza” see in him, as he has many. He is always polite and a joy to have in my apartment. I can’t say enough about him, other than to say we welcome K. Lonnell D. Taylor, Jr. here.
No one has ever spoken a bad word about at any meeting. They give him “high marks”. I hope to see him here for many years to come. Our hats go off to Lonnell Taylor.”

“I must put into words my appreciation of our guys. Part of my being predisposed to UIP was the fact that you agreed to keep our maintenance team. I have known a couple of them for at least 20 years. Sammy, the newest, and a great manager and leader; Ramone, who I’ve known forever; Roberto, who I’ve known almost forever; and Manuel, sweet wonderful Manuel, who I’ve only known for .. 15? years. These guys are great.
Bottom line: People who do a great job, are affable, professionally and personally. I see these guys everyday and they add something good to every single day.
As you know, I had my usual (for those of us on the back, on 7th or 8th) crumbling walls. Manuel shows up, does his stuff, more than that (manages to make my 100-year old turquoise paint for the kitchen “workable”, with some effort), cleans up after messy work with such kindness and understanding of my neurotic “clean” thing.
Ramone, sweet Ramone, comes up to fix my broken garbage disposal, fixes what I broke inadvertently (tiny cocktail fork fell down the drain and killed the GD), clean and efficient, and dear.
Thank you, UIP, for bringing such a personal face to my dwelling on many levels.”

“I just wanted to drop you a quick line and say how happy I am with UIP property management. I was very pleased with James Murphy’s quick response time for an online request I made yesterday about my pluming. It turned into a bigger project than I had imagined, but still got done the same day. I was also impressed with James’ level of professionalism when he called me to follow up and make sure everything was working well this morning. Many thanks to you and your team for keeping our apartments looking good and working well!”

“I have been resident at 301 G Street SW, for nine years this coming summer. It’s time I wrote to pass on my thanks to, and praise for, all those many people who work there in so many capacities—and whom, up until now, I have not taken the time to acknowledge properly.
Recently my kitchen and other areas of my apartment were transformed by repairs and replacements of old finishes and equipment. I hardly recognize it. The process was undertaken with care, consideration, and attention to detail and I am grateful for all involved. Andy Norris, your project manager, and Jere Murphy, your property manager, and their respective entire teams deserve special thanks for always being on top of everything and going the extra steps. Karen Proctor, in our leasing office, and Mike Garcia, our engineer, unfailingly respond to all requests, which are handled speedily, courteously, and very satisfactorily. Ditto for Jackson Flores and Raul Amana, our other engineers, who complete a team that never fails to respond—no matter what situation crops up they fix it.
In closing, I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention a security officer, Barbara Baker, who is ideal in such prominent public position. No matter what time of morning, she is there to greet every resident pleasantly and engagingly as we arrive down in the lobby on our way out to work, sending each one of us off with her wishes to have a great day. She’s outstanding, and is just as friendly and helpful upon our return at the end of the day if she happens to be on duty then too.”

“Good presentation today — all UIP proposals sound welcome, reasonable, and appropriate to me. Cant wait for improved bike storage, upstairs laundry, and fitness rooms.
My initial meeting with the VAT was very positive – look forward to their work.
All of this has shifted my inclination to extending my residence at the Argonne.”

“I am writing to let you know what a fantastic job UIP did this week in regards to the weather situation…
At around 7.30am Monday morning the convector was spewing cold air into my apt – I called the after hours number and within a couple of hours the heat was blasting – thank you! This took place as the snow began coming down heavily.
But there’s more. Monday evening, I was surprised to see a snowplow in our parking lot. This guy was thorough … He was swift, careful, and had to maneuver illegally parked cars at the entrance to the building and the snow and ice of course – he made sure to get every nook and cranny. I paid close attention as years back a snowplow struck a tire on my parked car! Having grown up in Norway, I’m familiar with extreme winter conditions and I know the dangers on the roads. I could tell he had a lot of experience in his task at hand.
By the time I went outside, the entire entrance area and lot had been salted – and the same goes for yesterday. There was no problem walking to my car or in and out of the property (the roads surrounding us is another story, still not thoroughly cleared of snow/ice and still a bit treacherous).
The combined PE maintenance staff and the individuals who took care of our property did an OUTSTANDING job. I can’t recall this level of efficiency, accuracy, promptness – and, transparency of operations, ever happening, and I’ve lived in the building since 2010 (2 diff. apts).
It felt good. It felt like someone cared…I wanted to commend your staff.”

“I asked Esther to forward your email addresses so that I could tell you about the outstanding job she did helping me prep my home before going into the hospital next week. I was impressed with and grateful for her responsiveness and follow-up. I originally called her in a panic because I had several maintenance issues that I wanted to take care of prior to surgery… Esther listened patiently, took note of all the issues, and swung into action…
I am impressed with Esther’s dedication and her genuine concern for my well-being. She is a true asset to your team–I thought you should know.”

“My experience with UIP was 5 star spectacular. My husband and I are moving from California and they made everything easy.
Lora M. was our initial point of contact and she was a fantastic help! The apartment she showed us was a little small, but she had her associate waiting at another property to show us a larger unit – initiative that I rarely see now in many industries, and a huge step up from the twenty-odd other properties we had toured. She was also terrific at following up to make sure that we were taken care of.
Kim H. showed us the property at 1841 in Adams Morgan that we fell in love with! Kim was friendly, and though she was new to working at the property, got back to us with answers to our questions same day.
We’re looking forward to renting with UIP. Their client-centered focus has been very impressive, and I expect that to continue throughout our time with them.”

“I wanted to take this opportunity to thank you and your team at UIP General Contracting, Inc. for their hard work and dedication at our co-operative at 1489 Newton Street NW in Washington, DC. The level of service and professionalism that your company provided was instrumental in completing this project on-time, under budget and has helped us reach our project completion goals.â€

“I just moved in a couple weeks ago and the entire process from viewing the apartment – to signing the lease – to doing a walk through was extremely organized and efficient. I’m really satisfied with the apartment and the property management company. Ari was my agent who was responsive to emails and directed me to the proper channels to address my concerns. Lissette is the property manager who introduced herself to me and was able to give me a rundown of the building and procedures to assist tenants. James, the technician/building engineer, addressed all my marks during the walk through and items that were not fixed immediately, he was able to give me a date on when they would be complete (which he promptly finished ahead of schedule!).
All in all, it’s been a pleasant experience, I’ve only been here a couple weeks, but all the tenants seem happy in this building and based on the responsiveness even after I’ve signed the lease from the management team, I’m super happy. Keep up the good work!”

“All of the work that Michael supervised in my apartment was completed quickly and professionally. He went above and beyond, patiently providing explanations to my many questions and double checking that all of the work was properly done. Further, he tried whenever possible to schedule work on days that I requested. And he took the time to be sure that I was happy with the results.
I realize that I’m just one of the many residents in the building that Michael has to deal with, and that each person no doubt had many concerns – so it’s no small matter that he managed to be so helpful and maintain a good attitude. Michael did an outstanding job despite the challenges of working heavy construction in an occupied building, and you can be proud of how well he represents your business.
Though I did not have as many direct dealings with Matt, in every instance he was unfailingly pleasant, always helpful and polite. Another great staff member.
If Michael or Matt let me know they would do something, I could be sure they would take care of it, and it would be done right. My compliments to you for providing such a strong management team for this project.”

“I recently had an excellent experience with your employee Sandy J. I just thought you should know that she is a real asset to your business. Anyone who treats customers with so much kindness and respect is a rare jewel, and truly gives you an edge over your competition.
I had been shipping for a new apartment for a few months when I finally decided to look into Hillside Heights. Sandy is actually one of the main reasons I wanted to rent from here. I always assess the attitude of the office personnel to determine whether that will be the home for me. She is very warm and inviting, a great sense of humor, and she knows that she’s talking about. As a result, she knows how to promote the community. I was sold from day one! I further realized that I had chosen the right place to live when I had some challenges with getting my gas connected. Sandy was “Johnny on the Spot” and worked overtime to ensure my daughter and I had heat.
Sandy is a rare jewel, and I mean that sincerely. She is the kind of employee that you should try your best to hold on to.”

“I am from a small town in the south. When I first moved to DC, I was nervous and a little apprehensive about city-life. When you welcomed me, and the maintenance crew stopped everything to make sure everything in my apartment was working properly and helped unload the moving truck, you and your team really went above and beyond the call of duty. I felt comfortable. I knew from that moment that I was in good hands, and I would be okay. I really, really appreciate that level of service. Everything is going really well for me. I thank you for that. You are absolutely terrific!”
