Valecia Suser

Vice President, Property Management

Valecia Suser joins the UIP team as Vice President of Property Management. An experienced leader in real estate portfolio management, she brings over 30 years of experience in strategic planning, financial management, and operational oversight. To this role, Valecia brings executive-level expertise in new construction, lease-ups, acquisitions, renovations, repositions, and financially and physically stressed assets. Her marketplace knowledge spans the Mid-Atlantic, Pennsylvania, Georgia, Florida and Louisiana. Prior to joining UIP, Valecia held the role of Vice President at Bonaventure where she was responsible for 7,000 units throughout Virginia.

Valecia is a Certified Property Manager (CPM) and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Communication from Florida State University. Her commitment to the multi-family housing industry extends beyond professional endeavors, as she has actively contributed to the field by serving on Property Management Advisory Boards at esteemed institutions such as Virginia Tech, Ball State, and the University of Georgia.

Deeqa Nur

Regional Director

Deeqa Nur joins UIP with over 28yrs of experience in the Washington D.C, Maryland, Northern Virginia, and Richmond markets. Ms. Nur has extensive experience in assisting clients with virtually any aspect of owning and operating multifamily and multi-use properties. She has overseen several renovation projects, new acquisitions, lease ups, and been vital to many due diligence teams.  Prior to UIP, Ms. Nur worked with the Archstone-Smith, Gates Hudson and JBG SMITH. More recently she worked as a General Manager for JBG SMITH in National Landing where she managed 1677 units and worked on future development plans for the community. She also served as a Senior Regional Manager for Gates Hudson, a firm that assists clients with the objective of acquiring and developing real estate. Ms. Nur is a University of Richmond advisory committee member where her areas of expertise are Internal and external customer-first experience management and navigating change in multi-cultural environments.

Mona Mitter

Regional Director

Mona Mitter joined UIP in June 2023 as a Regional Director.  She brings 20+ years of experience.  Mona has managed high-rise and garden-style communities in DC, MD, VA and OH.  She became a Regional Manager in 2008 for Cafritz Company, managing several high-rise communities in the District of Columbia and Maryland.  Mona is an Accredited Resident Manager with IREM and holds her Certified Occupancy Specialist designations (COS and COSA) from NCHM.  She holds her Real Estate Licenses in Maryland and the District of Columbia.

Alia Keys

Commercial Property Manager

Alia Keys, Commercial Property Manager, joined UIP with over a decade of experience in commercial property management. She oversees the management of multiple commercial properties throughout the DC, MD, and VA markets. With a substantive knowledge of the industry and markets, she builds and maintains lasting relationship with tenants, brokers, and investors, while focusing on the day-to-day management of properties. She excels at tenant relations, preparing financial reports and budgeting, lease and property administration, legal compliance, and development and operational oversight.

Jamal Gunter

Regional Service Manager

Jamal joined UIP in 2021 as Regional Service Manager with UIP Properties Management. Prior to joining UIP, Jamal held the position of Chief Engineer for Polinger Company and held positions of like capacity with several other companies. Jamal has nearly 20 years of experience in the maintenance and services industry. He is a licensed class 3 steam engineer and currently pursuing 1st class licensure for stationary and high-pressure steam applications.

Loren Carter

Training and Compliance Manager

Loren Carter joined UIP in June of 2023.  She brings 15+ years of affordable housing experience.  Loren has worked for housing authorities and property management companies throughout Maryland, District of Columbia, Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Alabama.  Loren is a Certified Housing Choice Voucher Specialist, a Tax Credit Specialist (TCS) and Housing Credit Certified Professional (HCCP)
